The ocean, the four pools, the perfect temperature. Hard as it was to leave the island of Maui, it's super cool being back in our own beds, even if back in the much less warm Bay Area. Not having cooked for a good ten days, I was determined to do so, despite the four loads of laundry facing me upon unpacking. To think it was only a day ago, sigh....

What I made was the most incredibly addictive Mac and cheese ever--accompanied by sides of baby brats and snap peas. It involved the making of a Bechamel sauce which was mostly stirring. Easy peasy...
The Bechamel swirled with two cups of aged British cheddar...
